You are Invited to the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation’s 42nd Convention Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers, Boston, MA – November 13-16, 2008. Join the largest gathering of Reconstructionists in North America for four enriching days of learning, building connections, and sharing best practices to strengthen and grow ourselves and our communities.

Scholarships:

Thanks to the generosity of our contributors, Hillel at the University of Minnesota is proud to offer several scholarships for Jewish students attending the University of Minnesota. Applications will be available for Hillel scholarships in spring 2008. In addition to Hillel's scholarships, the University of Minnesota Office of Student Finance also offers scholarships which Hillel students are strongly encouraged to apply to.

Scholarships Awarded by the University of Minnesota Office of Student Finance
The University of Minnesota Office of Student Finance offers specific scholarships with preference given to Jewish students.

Hillel: The Jewish Student Center at the University of Minnesota posts this list as a reference for students seeking scholarship opportunities. The organization has no say in determining who the scholarships will be awarded to.

Applications for Office of Student Finance Scholarships will be posted after April 15, 2008 at the Student Finance Scholarship website. If you have any questions regarding scholarships awarded by the Office of Student Finance (i.e. those listed below), please contact the Office of Student Finance at helpingu@umn.edu or 612-624-1111.

Joe and Minnie Milstein Memorial Scholarship
This is a $1000 merit-based scholarship for Jewish undergraduate students at the U of M.

Application Due June 1, 2008:

Harry and Mary Kane Scholarship Fund
This is a $500 need-based scholarship for Jewish undergraduate students at the U of M.

Application Due May 1, 2008:

Abraham Greenberg Memorial Dental Scholarship
For Jewish dental students. Preferance given to first year students.

Application Due June 1, 2008:

The Nathan Lifson, Irving Lifson and Gilda Lifson Bronsztein Scholarship
Established in 1988 by Nathan Lifson as a memorial to his parents, Max and Anna Lifson. Preference is given to Minnesota residents of Jewish descent whose contribution to society will benefit future generations.

Harold B. and Helen N. Shapiro Scholarship
The Harold B. and Helen N. Shapiro Scholarship, established in 1987, devotes assistance to Jewish students.

Ethyl S. Zuckman Scholarship
The Ethyl S. Zuckman Scholarship, established in 1997, devotes assistance to Jewish students with financial need.
