Racism and anti-Semitism often strike closer to home than we think. Minnesota is the home to several hate groups and is the place of dozens of hate crimes every year. FBI Statistics According to the FBI's 2006 report on hate crimes (the latest available), there were 137 bias crimes with 98 being motivated by race and 13 by religion. Of these, 4 racially motivated crimes occurred on the University of Minnesota campus in 2006. Extremist Events The Anti Defamation League has compiled lists of extremist events. In 2007, there were three reported events.
